Tropical flowers in the Carribean

One thing I love about being in Haiti is seeing all the tropical flowers here. I was always drawn to them as I picked out my flowers from the wholesale coolers in Ohio. But there is nothing like seeing them in their natural habitat. The foliage is unbelievable too. Palm trees and banana trees everywhere and in certain parts everything is lush and green. Its like living in a aboretum!

This blog was inspired by the creativity of the Haitian people. The ideas of how they "Go Green" is because they have to save and make do with what they have. Unlike the American people with too much, that they don't think about waste. Their gardening and produce is grown mostly without pesticides, because they don't have it or they cannot afford it. In 2012-2014 our family had the opportunity to serve as missionaries in Haiti. We learned a lot and made many new friends there. Although we are now back to our home in America, we left a piece of our hearts there and try to visit and help where we can.
