Here in the land of Haiti among the mountains is a place where beauty is everywhere and yet, these places is where alot of hardships lie among the people. Life is hard when they lose their crops to hurricanes and droughts, and when sickness comes and there is no way to get to the doctor and so they have to watch their loved ones die. The only way at this time to get to this place called " Pays-Pourri " is to hike up the mountains. For me, a strenuous 3 hrs. This place is by far the most favorite of all the places in Haiti though. There way of life is so interesting and look at the cute little huts some of them live in........the rolling hills with their beautiful gardens and the people are so friendly, they offer a great deal of hospitality that would put me to shame. They give of everything they have to share with us and to help others. How willing am I to do the same in my own life?

Wendy LavyThis blog was inspired by the creativity of the Haitian people. The ideas of how they "Go Green" is because they have to save and make do with what they have. Unlike the American people with too much, that they don't think about waste. Their gardening and produce is grown mostly without pesticides, because they don't have it or they cannot afford it. In 2012-2014 our family had the opportunity to serve as missionaries in Haiti. We learned a lot and made many new friends there. Although we are now back to our home in America, we left a piece of our hearts there and try to visit and help where we can. Archives
