Here is what happens early in the morning at our place....Aaron or I pick the sunflowers and Rylan, Kenslie and Jayla help cut off leaves. It can be a real struggle for most of us when we have to get out in the field @ 6 am! But I love being out there with all those flowers. :)

I like to plant sunflowers. I consider sunflowers to be my personality, shining against all odds. Its large flowers with yellow petals are mesmerizing to visualize. The attractiveness of sunflowers prompted our family to buy bulks of sunflower seeds to plant. Days after planting the bulks of sunflower seeds, it sprouted. Weeks later, we were astounded to the marvel of all the sunflowers blooming simultaneously. I knew that I had to capture that opportunity. We were like inside a sunflower paradise, full of happiness.

Wendy LavyThis blog was inspired by the creativity of the Haitian people. The ideas of how they "Go Green" is because they have to save and make do with what they have. Unlike the American people with too much, that they don't think about waste. Their gardening and produce is grown mostly without pesticides, because they don't have it or they cannot afford it. In 2012-2014 our family had the opportunity to serve as missionaries in Haiti. We learned a lot and made many new friends there. Although we are now back to our home in America, we left a piece of our hearts there and try to visit and help where we can. Archives
